Bleed  is an extension of all the elements that touch the edge of the design past the edges of the document. Basically, if you have a picture that goes right up to the edge of your document or a background color, it must extend at least 3mm beyond where the document is to be cut.

Why do I need it?

Bleed is key in making sure that your carefully crafted artwork once printed looks as it did on the screen after all your hours of hard work! Without bleed you may be left with a white border around your document, which would be disappointing, to say the least.

The genres of "Zombie in a spacesuit" are science fiction and comedy.

An adventure story with a most wicked sense of humor. A love story of cosmic proportions. A science fiction story with a wacky premise.

The genres of "My Mother's Ring" are historical fiction and war story.

The Holocaust didn't really end in 1945. Not for everyone. Even after the war, survivors' lives were influenced by their terrifying experiences. Some of them were never able to tell their stories - for others, it took decades.

In  My Mother's Ring:  A Holocaust Historical Novel , Henryk Frankowski feels compelled to pen his memoir and finally share his poignant story from his hospital bed as he lay dying. His carefree childhood as a Jewish boy in Warsaw, Poland is never far from his mind as he recalls the tumultuous world he endured during the Holocaust. Henryk speaks uninhibitedly about the intense bond he has with his family, particularly his adoration for his nurturing mother. Ultimately, the Frankowskis' lives are broken apart as World War II ignites and the Nazis storm across Europe, imprisoning and killing millions. As senseless restrictions are implemented, living conditions are compressed, circumstances turn dire, and callous disregard for human life runs rampant, Henryk must find the resilience to carry on. All the while, he dreams of a family reunion in Warsaw...

Legend (David Gemmell)

Title:

The book's title is a reference to the main character, Druss the Legend. Gemmell's original title for the story was "The Siege of Dros Delnoch", although it was never released under this name. The title was changed to  Against the Horde  in the first US release by Ace Books in 1988. Subsequent re-releases used the original title,  Legend .

Legend  is the first and most famous novel by David Gemmell first published in 1984. It belongs to the Drenai series.

The novel depicts the Siege of Dros Delnoch in which Druss the Legend and a small group of Drenai defenders are vastly outnumbered by an invading Nadir army led by the warlord Ulric. Legend  was written during a time when Gemmell thought he was dying of cancer, and the plot is a reflection of this.

Held by many to be Gemmell's most iconic work, the book is considered a classic in the heroic fantasy genre.

Current book covers
'Legend' is a fantasy novel by British writer David Gemmell, published in 1984. It established him as a major fantasy novelist and created the character of Druss, who would appear in several subsequent books. It was the first novel by Gemmell and in The Drenai saga.

Gemmell got the idea for the book in 1976. He was being tested for cancer, and to take his mind off it he tried writing a book, which he called "Against the Hordes". The fortress and its attackers, the Nadir, were metaphors for him and cancer. In the end, he was found not to have cancer after all and he forgot about the book, which he claims wasn't very good anyway. However, in 1980, a friend of Gemmell's read the manuscript and told him that the story had potential. Encouraged, Gemmell set to work rewriting the book that would become known as "Legend". It was accepted by Century Publishing late in 1982.

The genres of this book are Fiction, Fantasy, Epic Fantasy, Heroic Fantasy, Adventure, Sword and Sorcery, War, Science Fiction.

Blurb:

He was well-known as Druss.
So many stories of his adventures in his life are told everywhere. However, he didn't follow the way for fame and fortune. He found peace in his life by choosing solitude in mountain hide.

Dros Delnoch was his roof and home.
The only way he can protect his Delnoch from enemies is by relying on him. The Dros Delnoch was really a stronghold in its past, but it is not now. Dros is the last and desperate hope for its people.

He is a HERO, he is a LEGEND.

Evaluation of my  final product

What is your final piece? (description of it) What influenced you to do this as your final product? (Quote some research/skills you like/strengths)
-My final piece is my book cover(front, spine, and back cover).

Did you make a plan and follow it? Was it useful? If you didn’t make a plan would it have helped if you did?
-I had my plan and I followed it. First, to found an image for the book jacket and put it as the background, then I used Photoshop to remove the background and placed the 2 battle axes in the front and 1 battle axe in the spine. Second, I put the book title and author's name on the front and the spine.

How did you create your product? Tools/techniques/programs you used.
-The programs I used are Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. I used Photoshop to save the image of the front, spine, and back cover as a PNG and then placed it into Illustrator. The tools are Type Tool to add text, Selection Tool to select, and adjust points.

What did you research? Was your research successful (did it influence your final product) and why?
-I did research about the book, and what was it about and it was successful as I found information about this and it helped me with writing a blurb and some ideas for the book covers.

Were there any problems? What did you do to overcome them?
-No, there were no problems.

What went well with the product? How well did you complete the product? What standard is it? Does it communicate your ideas well? How/why?
-The front cover, spine, back cover went and blurb went very well.

What went less well? Is it messy? Not what you wanted? Not finished? Why do you think this happened?
- The typestyle of the book title and the colour of the author's name went less well. Yes, it's not what I wanted and it's not finished and I will change it.

If you were to repeat the process again, what would you do differently and why?
- I'm not sure, but to change the typestyle of the book title and the colour of the author's name, because it's hard to read.
